I am the narrator of Cate Brody’s first web-released novel, Crazy Gone Love. I have been priveledged and once again entrusted to record Cate’s second novel, It’s A Geek Thing. If you are a fan of the first novel, I ask you to voice your opinion between now and August (when I intend to start recording the second novel), whether I should use accents to distinguish the characters. If there is no benefit to my recording the book using accents, they take a lot of extra effort. On the other hand, if they enhance the listener’s experience, please state that now.
Thanks,
Anna
Yes on the accents!
I’m probably late, but I’ll say it anyways. Love the characters with the accents. When is this coming out?
YES, ACCENTS! I LOVED THE WAY YOU READ. AND THE ACCENTS MADE IT FOR ME. I SHARED THIS WITH A FRIEND, AND SHE ALSO SAYS YES! YES! YES! OH MASON!
(SORRY) HA HA
Yes, I would like the accents! I also like hearing about what the ladies prefer. (:<
I wasn’t a huge fan of the Lupe accent at first, but it grew on me. I can’t exactly explain what makes for a good narrator, but you’ve got it.
I feel hugely guilty because I haven’t had time to devote to finishing this book and at this point my health issues make it difficult to try. I might just try a dry read just so Cate’s book gets out there, cuz she’s just too shy shy (hush hush eye to eye) ya know? to record it herself. I don’t promise anything because this MS diagnosis is kicking my behind, but I’ll try.
Anna Kelk, narrator
Hi Anna,
Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. I hope you start feeling better. Not to sound pushy, but any idea when the new book will be available? And is it anything like Crazy Gone Love? I have listened to that about 4 times in the last week!!! I LOVE IT!! Will there be the same characters in the new book? And is Cate currently working on new books??
Thanks,
Amy
Hi Amy,
Great to hear. Yeah, I loved Crazy Gone Love, but it’s a Geek Thing does not reprise any of the characters from there. I think it’s a cool book in it’s own right. As for new books, I’ll ask her but I think she’s always got one finger in writing, amongst her creative other talents.
ANNA,
I, FOR ONE, AM PRAYING FOR REMISSION FOR YOUR ILLNESS. I HAVE WORKED WITH PEOPLE DIAGNOSED WITH MS, AND EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT, BUT THERE IS LOTS OF HOPE FOR GREAT DAYS AHEAD.
SO, I SAY, FEEL BETTER, RECORD WHAT YOU CAN, AND WE WILL WAIT (IM)PATIENTLY! I LOVE THE BOOK, BUT THE READING MADE IT FOR ME!
